Story
I DID IT! What an amazing day. I have never been more happy, sad and in more pain and pleasure all at the same time. I completed it in 4hrs 1min 32secs.
Thank you all for your donations, but please feel free to contribute if you haven't done so already. It would still mean a lot to me and more importantly to those in care and their relatives.
Look out for a full Big Race Day report with photos which I'll send out soon.
Once again, thank you all so much.

Hi there and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
In August 2008 I lost my big sister Anjana, affectionately known to me as Didi, to liver cancer. In December 2008 I also lost another sister, Nutan, to breast cancer. At some point during their illness both sisters had the amazing support of a local hospice.
Having seen at first hand the support given by these hospices to not only my sisters but to the family at large, I felt driven to raise money for Help the Hospices.
I'll be running my first Flora London Marathon on 26th April 2009. No doubt this will be a physical, mental and emotional challenge. I know that with your support, both financially and on the day, I will get through the 26.2 miles... EVEN IF I HAVE TO CRAWL ACROSS THE FINISH LINE!!!
If you want any more info you can contact me on: shamir@f2s.com
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Help the Hospices gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support,
Shamir
