Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. The Summer Fields community is very fortunate to live on the doorstep of the University Parks, the location of the original Town and Gown run.
Now in its 36th year, the run is organised by Muscular Dystrophy UK, the charity for 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions. They are making a difference today, providing vital information and support to help people live as independently as possible. They are making a difference for tomorrow, accelerating progress in research and driving the campaign for access to emerging treatments.
The school is paying the entry fee for the 70 boys who want to take part in the run, part of our charitable donation to Muscular Dystrophy UK. Last year we were also able to raise £2,100 through sponsorship of the boys and adults who ran (the highest fundraising team in the event). It would be terrific if we could raise an even greater sum for the charity this year; any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to support the junior runners, their 3k race starts at 09.30am on Sunday 14th May, with a 10.00am start for the adults running the 10k course. Fingers crossed for good weather and continuing health and fitness for all involved!
