Story
Hi all 🙋🏻♀️
As some of you may know the first week of October I will be attempting the Jordan ultra marathon over 5 days covering 250km through the Wadi Rum Desert. Safe to say I’m pretty nervous 😅.
It’s all in aid of the British heart foundation ♥️ For those who want to donate please go ahead, for those that need a little persuasion please continue reading... This year just before the race it will be 10 years since we lost Dad, and whilst that seems like a long time I promise you it also feels like just yesterday. We lost him suddenly to a heart attack, so this charity is very close to my heart ( #literally lol). I’m setting a target of £2500 just £10 for every grim kilometre in the sandy desert 🥴 If this money can help just one other family not go through this, then it’s all worth it.
Training for this has genuinely taken over my life with many many hours of running. I seem to be giving up my weekends to run 50km followed by more running the next day 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t know who this person or what socialising is anymore 😂. So if you could spare some money and sponsor me I will be eternally grateful. If you’d like to laugh at copious amounts of running selfies documenting all the training you can find me on insta @seymour.running
And finally here’s a few facts for you to show just how much we still need this charity:
- In the UK every 5 minutes someone is admitted to hospital due to a heart attack
- Heart and circulatory diseases cause more than a quarter (25%) of all deaths in the UK
- In the UK it’s estimated more than half of us will get a heart or circulatory condition in our lifetime
- Since the BHF was established the annual number of deaths from heart and circulatory diseases in the UK has fallen by around a half
Thanks so much for reading, looking forward to (hopefully) uploading some terrible finish photos and having a day off running.
Miss you always Dad 🌹
