Rachel's #bigcommunitysew for M.E research

Fundraising for ME Association
£890
raised of £150 target
Biomedical research into M.E.is seriously underfunded. We need to do more if we are to learn how and why this cruel illness starts - how to test for it or treat it, or better still, how to cure it.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To order a mask please donate and leave your name, then email rachelxfranklin@gmail.com with your name & address, and how many masks you need.

The Big Community Sew is to help ensure that every person in every community in Britain has the face covering they need and I happen to have a sewing machine and a fair amount of fabric.

I am happy to make you a cotton face mask (or two) in return for a few things from you:

  1. Patience: as someone with M.E. I do not have the same energy /activity capacity as healthy people, and I am trying to sew whilst still working, so please bear with me on making the masks. You can learn more about M.E. here: https://www.actionforme.org.uk/what-is-me/introduction/
  2. Kindly make a donation below and comment how many masks you need.
  3. Email your address to rachelxfranklin@gmail.com if you would like your mask to be posted to you.

The masks will all be made from cotton with either fabric ties or elastic for securing the masks.

All masks will have a pocket on the inside where a filter can be added if you wish and the masks should be worn with the pleats facing down so any droplets fall off rather than becoming trapped in the masks.

The total raised will be matched by Pears Foundation through the staff match funding scheme (up to £1000)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks so much

Rachel

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
