Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

A small group are cycling from Seville to Lisbon to celebrate Celtic FC winning the European Cup in 1967. This will be the 50th anniversary year. The cycle will raise some money for Alzheimer's Scotland and Breathing Space (Scotland's Mental Health phoneline 0800 83 85 87). Leading up to the cycle we hope to raise awareness, for people who suffer with Dementia, of the importance of sharing memories and how, for many men, it can be useful to talk and share stories about football in general and for some fans 1967 in particular. There are already initiatives, supported by Alzheimer's Scotland, which focus on football memories and indeed some football teams have in-house memory cafes which have proved helpful in giving people a sense of connectedness and support in their isolation living with Dementia.

Any monies raised will be well used in supporting the work of Alzheimer's Scotland and also supporting Breathing Space who receive 7000 calls a month from people throughout Scotland concerned about stress, depression or anxiety in their lives or those of their loved ones.

For anyone who chooses to give any money a very big thank you. ALL money raised will go to Alzheimer's Scotland and Breathing Space. Just hope our legs hold out!
