Story
We are a group of students from Leeds Metropolitan University studying Landscape Architecture. We have designed a garden that we will be exhibiting at RHS Tatton Flower Show 25-28 July, 2013. The concept of this garden is that it can be used all year around in all weather. The outside planting on the pod is inspired by the Yorkshire landscape contrasting with the warm and enveloping modern LED lighting on the inside. The pod has been designed for access to all in all types of conditions-including those in a wheelchair. Basically, we want people to have an escape from the stress of modern day life and all of its fast paced technologies. A place where they can reflect on their day, or simply just have some quiet time to themselves.
We are creating this garden for the healing and sanctuary of those families going through a terminal illness. After the RHS Tatton show, we will donate our garden for permanent installation on the grounds of St. Gemma’s Hospice for the benefit of all who visit there. If you would like to support our project, please follow the links on this website to make a donation.
