Story
Last year we swam in London, cycled to Scotland and ran the Marathon in Edinburgh - all in 5 days. This year it's one discipline, cycling, but a whole lot more miles. Well over 700 miles (1120 km) in fact and... we're going to be cycling over 7 of the Tour de France's highest and most famous passes. From Paris to Nice with none other than the legendary Col du Galibier, the 21 switchbacks of the Alpe D'Huez and the foreboding 2700m high Col de la Bonette to get in our way. 7 days should be enough!
In return, we're asking you to support the Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust. Last year Jeremy's brother Matt was part of the Edinburgh team. While I raised money for Cancer Research following the death of my Mum in February, Matt was pedaling away for his twin brother Jeremy who had died, age 30, of vCJD in 2006.
Jeremy's family set up the JWCT to help as many young people pursue the type of ambition that Jeremy was known for. Learn more here: www.jwct.org.uk
All of the costs of the ride are being paid for by us so every penny of your money is a donation to the charity.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to support us: The Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Please support us.
Best wishes, Simon
