I am going to walk 26miles from beadnell to Lindisfarne to raise money for the alzheimers society. Last year Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Dementia is not a natural part of growing old it is caused by diseases of the brain the most common of which is Alzheimers. It is estimated that the number  of people with dementia will double in the next 10 years and that 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will develop dementia.
