Craig Middleton, Steve Park, and Martin Gunn are taking on
the challenge of Running the Yorkshire marathon on Sunday 17th
October. They are raising money for the Alzheimers’ Society. An increasing number of families are facing the reality of a dementia diagnosis for a loved one.
Craig, Steve, and Martin are running the 26.2 miles with close loved ones in mind. They have witnessed first-hand, how this disease impacts not only the person with the diagnosis but their close family and friends.
The Alzheimers’ Society can help with advice, guidance support. They also conduct valuable research which is based on identifying ways to prevent dementia and searching for a cure. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. It is a physical disease that affects the brain which gradually over time affects more parts of the brain.
More than 520 thousand people in the UK have Alzheimer’s and this figure is set to rise.
