Answer Digital are taking part in Boycott your Bed 2021...A number of our employees are boycotting their bed to lay their head for the night in our car park outside our offices in Leeds City Centre. Even before the pandemic, there were over 4.3 million children living in poverty across the UK. Now things are even harder. The number of families relying on Universal Credit has doubled. Households with children are twice as likely to have suffered financial hardship – like falling behind on bills or borrowing to pay for basics – because of coronavirus. For most of us, happier times are ahead. Doing the things we love again. Maybe even getting away from it all. But for children and families already in desperate need, this crisis has made things even worse. For them, there’s no end in sight. Last year, Action for Children were able to reach 387,000 children, young people and families across the UK. Right now, Action for Children is providing vital help to the most vulnerable families across the UK. In the last year, their Coronavirus Emergency Fund has provided essentials, like food and warm clothes, to around 20,000 children and young people. Their frontline key workers have kept 99% of services open. And Parent Talk, their online support service, has been a vital lifeline for more than 350,000 children and families seeking reassurance and advice. Action for Children work in local communities across more than 503 services, in schools and online. They make a real difference by doing what’s proven to work, and by coming up with new solutions. Byte Night / Boycott your Bed is something Answer has taken part in for a number of years and the team are excited at the prospect of this year being able to come together again (following all government guidelines) to support Action for Children and raise lots of money!!!
