#WeStandWithUkraine #WeStandWithAllRefugees
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, thousands of refugees have walked for many miles attempting to escape Ukraine for their safety with some coming under fire in the proccess and others left behind unable to escape.
On 9th April, 2022, in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and all refugees, a group of Merseyside walkers will walk 21 miles over The Sefton Coastal Path. To raise essential funds for British-Ukrainian Aid. An organisation that supports people suffering from the war and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine by aligning UK and Ukrainian efforts.
(Note: Stephanie Parry & Eve Sharp will be walking on the 16th April, 2022)
If people can donate even just £10 per mile, we will raise £210 as a bare minimum! Please give as little or as much as you can, or simply share the page if you are not in a position to donate. We will be sharing the walk as we go along on social media, and via the walking app Go Jauntly so others can follow the route in solidarity with the people of Ukraine too if they wish in any part.
We will start from the beginning of The Sefton Coastal Path at Crossens via the salt marshes of the Ribble, ending at Crosby Marine Park (21 miles in total). We will walk the whole length of the planned route... NO cycling or driving, in solidarity with those refugees who have recently walked 43 miles to the borders from Ukraine.
