I attended the Lily Foundation Charity Boxing event in 2017 and saw first hand how much work Team Lily put into helping the families affected and how much they need our help! I have to be honest and say that prior to the event, I did not know much about The Lily Foundation or the disease itself. After hearing the stories from the families throughout the night, I made the decision that I would do what I can to support this fantastic charity.
The Lily Foundation was founded in Lily's memory, having lost her battle to Mitochondrial Disease at just eight months old. The charity aims to give hope, answers and support to the many other children and families that face the challenges of this disease today.
Every twenty minutes a child is born who will develop Mitochondrial Disease by the age of 16! There is no cure for this disease which is for many, debilitating and life limiting.
I am therefore throwing myself into the ring for a "white collar boxing" style fight on April 11th 2019 and will also be running the London Landmark Half Marathon on 24th March 2019.
I have set a target of £850, but really hope we can smash through this and I hope to see some of you cheering me on at the boxing!
