In memory of George Stephenson
Following Georges death last year at just 24, Plymouth College is refurbishing the historic pavilion on its sports field in his name. As part of this project, Friends of George want to create an amazing hospitality area to celebrate his memory.

Story

George was a hugely talented and passionate sportsman, whose death last year at the age of 24 left a gaping hole in many lives. Stevo, who was also gifted academically and musically, faced everything in life with energy and enthusiasm. His old school, Plymouth College, is now refurbishing the historic pavilion on its sports field in his name and close friends of Stevo, including team-mates, classmates and their families, have embraced the plan to name the restored building the George Stephenson Pavilion. It feels appropriate to link his name with the nurture of young sporting talent for generations to come While the school will sort out structural and other essential work, the Friends of George want to celebrate his memory by creating a unique space on the first floor of the building. A hospitality area where parents and visitors can support young players and enjoy post-match teas, the area will also commemorate Plymouth Colleges sporting achievements with photos and mementoes.
