Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
Many people reading this will know that I ran the marathon in 2018 when the heat made the challenge 'extra' challenging, and so I wanted to come back again in 2019 to race myself one year on. I also took great pride in being able to raise so much money for charity last year, and wanted to repeat that again, which is where I need your help.
Choosing a charity to support was easy this year - McGee have selected the Stroke Association as our charity of the year for our 60th Anniversary year in Memory of Tom McGee who founded the business, and who died of a stroke 20+ years ago. Further to this, and having done some research into stroke I was shocked to discover that despite the fact that those affected are twice as likely to survive as they were 20 years ago, it remains the fourth single largest cause of death in the UK
The Stroke Association generate funds for research, to raise awareness and to give survivors much needed support in their rehabilitation. Those survivors are not limited to the stereotype of those who might be affected - they are Women and Men, young and old.
So, as I embark on another 26.2 miles to raise funds, I would be extremely grateful if you were able to support me by donating to the Stroke association using the link below. 100% of money pledged goes to the charity. Please give as generously as you are able to - it will help me over the last few miles, no doubt!
Thanks for reading!
