Story
One of our school values is compassion.
During this time away from the school building, we want to encourage the children to do something with their families to raise money for a local charity, The Northern Ireland Hospice.
We are asking all our children to take part.
The UK Charity sector estimates it will lose £4 billion in income as a result of the COVID-29 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled due to Covid-19.
Sunday 26 April should be the date of the London Marathon, the worlds biggest one day annual event, which raised £66.4 million for charities in 2019.
Now the UK’s mass participation event industry has come together to create The 2.6 challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK’s charities. Everyone living in our locality is welcome to help us raise money for our chosen charity The Northern Ireland Hospice.
This is a challenge for all ages and abilities.
All you need to do is think of an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 that suits your skills and complete it on or from Sunday 26 April and join our school to fundraise for this vital service.
Every year Hospice supports over 4000 babies, children and adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions as well as their families. The Now More Than Ever Appeal is asking the public to support Hospice during this unprecedented time in history.
The spread of COVID-19 has already had a devastating impact on the charity’s income. With fundraising events postponed and charity shops closed, the funds that Hospice heavily relies on have stopped.
Please give what you can and help us to help the Northern Ireland Hospice.
