CJ does a Dip a Day!

Three years ago, on 21 February, I sustained a mild traumatic brain injury.
It changed my life.
Prior to my accident, which happened as a result of me being on a tree swing(!), I led a full and busy life working 40+ hours a week, going here, there and everywhere, usually on a whim, and making the most of every day!
Following almost two years of rehab, I returned to work, managing 12 hours per week, and struggling at that.
Fast forward a little and I am currently unable to work due to a big setback in summer of 2020. My day to day, every day has completely changed.
It has always been in my nature to step outside my comfort zone, face challenges, get the adrenaline rush and be the crazy one who says; “why not”!
During ‘that year’ (2020), I decided to get back into the sea having avoided it for a long time and joined a local swimming group later in the year.
I have continued to sea dip throughout my first winter and so here came my ‘light bulb moment’!
February just happens to be the month when the sea temperature is at its coldest. Living on the North East coast, it can vary between 4 and 7 degrees.
So, I have decided to do a ‘Dip a Day’ during the month of February. Why not!
This will be extremely challenging, not only because of the unknown weather at this time of year (potential for snow, the obvious bitterly cold north easterly winds, sleet, hail, rain, you name it!) but also the chill of the sea and guaranteed kick back of debilitating neuro fatigue that will follow.
If for any reason weather intervenes and I am, for safety reasons, unable to dip on a day, I will add this on to the challenge.
I know it is a difficult time of year to ask people to support me in this, and I totally cringe doing so; but... if you’re able, I’d love your help, to help me support the charity Samaritans.
Thank you...ThankYou!
I am literally terrified!
Hat, socks, gloves, 2mm thick swimsuit, and a flippin big smile!
I GOT THIS!! Clare xx
