Story
Two best mates cycling almost 1000 miles for charity! 16th August 2010 until 23rd August 2010
Nuts ayy??
Well that's just what we're doing! We will be starting on the 16th August 2010 from John O'groats and finishing at Lands end...but to make it even more challenging we plan to complete it in just 7 days... on mountain bikes!!
Why oh why are we doing this you might ask?
Well, we want to raise money for Kent air ambulance which, along with other regional air ambulance services, are not funded by the government. Crazy isn't it? A service which actively saves lives is funded entirely by kind charitable donnations! This year alone (April 2010) they have been involved with over 175 missions. It cost £1.7millon to operate each year. They can access any part of Kent within just 15 minutes flying time which is why its such important service!
Luckily neither Sean nor I have needed the aid of Kent air ambulance, however, if either of us or a family member were involved in a serious accident we would hope and to an extent expect the Kent Air ambulance to be on hand, giving ourselves or our loved ones the best possible chance.
So come on, you have the easy bit! All we need is a little bit of money which will help save lives through the Kent air ambulance.
Sean and I have committed to a good 1000 mile bike ride so you don't have to!
