Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've decided to do something completely crackers and sign up to run 10 Marathons in 10 days in May 2018. The route is the UK's second toughest road Marathon with 26.2 miles of undulating roads to tackle each day around the Lake Districts Lake Windermere. I have run this Marathon in the past as a single event and know how tough it is, and also how I felt after running it the once. I can't imagine how I am going to feel running it for 10 days on the trot! (tired and very hungry probably)
If you'd have told me 10 years ago I'd have been running 10 Marathons in 10 Days I'd have laughed, but in 2007 spending some time in the Lakes with work colleagues at a charity event, it totally changed my prospective towards life style and fitness, and how much the UK has to offer. The Brathay Trust works to support young people and their families at risk of exploitation, criminality and various types of abuse offering inspirational residential experience's at Brathay to help transform their outlook, amongst a number of other supports they provide across the UK from their Lake District Base. I know from my own experience how much exposure to this type of scenery and environment can help! All the costs around training and the event are covered by myself, 100% of donations will go towards supporting the work of the amazing Brathay trust.
After initially being 'told off' for entering the 10in10 challenge by Sarah Warburton due the physical demands, Sarah has since also gone crackers and committed to running some challenges in 2018,also in support of the Brathay trust, this is also a huge undertaking in particular as Sarah has only just started running! So watch this space for Sarah's running challenges also.
As the event gets closer I'll upload some video blogs and stories of training and in particular through the event itself.
Thanks for reading, I'll keep you all posted on how the training is going and hopefully see some of you in May for some much needed encouragement! Anything you can donate would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks :)
