Story
Starting 27th July this year I am taking part in the prestigious 'Police Unity Tour 2018'. This annual tour aims to raise money for a fantastic charity close to mine and my family's heart.
COPS (care of police survivors) charity is a UK registered charity run by volunteers dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty to rebuild their lives. They aim to ensure that survivors have all the help they need to cope with such tragedy and that they remain part of the police family as they rebuild their lives.
The Police Unity Tour is entering its 6th year, increasing awareness and honouring police officers who have died in the line of duty. The tour entails a 180 bike ride over 2 days and concludes at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to coincide with COPS annual service.
In October 2001 mine and my family's life was changed forever. My father PC Malcolm Walker was killed whilst on duty. He served with West Midlands Police for 21 years and was loved and respected by all his colleagues, community, friends and family. We lost the heart of our family that day and COPS have helped ease the pain and make life a little easier day by day.
Please help me raise as much as I can for this amazing charity, any amount large or small will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to sponsor then please remember the name COPS charity and tell a friend, raising awareness is as equally important as raising funds.
