Sean's Dragon's Back Race page

Next week I'm running the Dragon's Back Race, a multi-day ultramarathon across mountains and down the spine of Wales from Conwy Castle to Cardiff Castle starting Monday 6th September. Its 6 days long and 380Km in total, with an average daily distance of 63km, mostly off road and at times completely off paths with a total altitude gain of 17400m (Ouch!). Competitors have to navigate to checkpoints along the route and then camp at the end of each day.
This will most definitely be the toughest endurance challenge I've ever done so I thought I'd try and raise some money for charity in the process. I lost my father to a type of blood cancer back in 2013 so I've decided to race the Dragons Back in his memory and donate to Blood Cancer UK (https://bloodcancer.org.uk).
Blood Cancer UK: "We are a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job."
