Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On November 1st 2013 a very special lady, Florence Halden sadly passed away after suffering a stroke at home several weeks before.

`Mrs H` as I always called her was cared for by the most amazing, dedicated staff on Beech Ward at King Georges Hospital, Goodmayes, Essex.

Having never experienced anyone who has suffered a stroke, it opened my eyes and taught me so much about this medical condition, stroke occurs approximately 152,000 time a year in the UK, that is one every 3 seconds, one in three strokes are fatal within a year - and the third single largest cause of death in the UK, the most alarming statistic is that everyone can have a stroke including Children

I would like to raise monies for Stroke awareness, my target is £750 but would like to exceed that figure, I will be riding the gruelling 100 mile London/Surrey course, my target is to cover this route at an average speed of 16-17mph meaning a painful six hours in the saddle, `Mrs H` will be my inspiration to finish, in her memory please support me and this wonderful cause

Thank you so much

Sean
