Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2017 my brother Marc was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma which is a rare form of cancer found in children and young adults. He overcame this after 1 year of treatment and enjoyed life to the full during his period of remission, partying and holidaying.
Sadly his cancer returned in July 2019 and despite a hard fight he passed away on the 6th of July 2020. Marc was a great brother and my best friend. He meant so much to all of his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.
Throughout Marcs illness he always had a smile on his face, his bravery was amazing, he was often the one supporting us rather than the other way roundabout.
I would like to recognise his bravery and attempt something that is very much out of my comfort zone.
Myself, family and friends (around 40-50 of us) are going to climb Ben Nevis on the 29th August to celebrate Marc's 21st birthday which is on 26th August. Those of us who make it to the top will raise a beer to him, those who don't make it to the top can raise one anyway (ie my mum!!)
This climb is about remembering Marc but if we can raise any money for Teenage Cancer Trust along the way we will take it but its not the main purpose.
If anyone wants to join us please get in contact as we plan to organise a bus there and back. The more the merrier... Marc liked a party!!
Marc spent a lot of time in the teenage cancer trust unit in Edinburgh where he received excellent care. The family request that any money raised goes directly to this unit.
Many thanks
