Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Earlier this year I received a invite to fly to Sweden to participate in a cycle race called The Vatterundan which, will take place on 18 June 2022. The race is approx. 300km (186 miles) with the team aiming for a completion time of under 10.5 hours.
As part of my training and riding in the event I knew that this was a great opportunity to raise funds for Scotty's Little Soldiers which is a charity for bereaved British Forces children providing long term support to those families our fallen heros leave behind.
Inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott, the Scotty's
Little Soldier charity honours her husband Corporal Lee Scott’s memory, both as a loyal soldier and a loving father, and provides a practical yet personal way for the public at large to show their appreciation for those brave individuals who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.
The charity provide relief from the effects of bereavement to young
people who have experienced the death of a parent who served with the Armed Forces of the Crown with the promise of wanting every bereaved Forces child to have access to the very best health and well-being support, outstanding development opportunities and the chance to smile again.
I'm a British Army veteran whilst also being a father to two children. I was also very conscious that I should be giving something back to those military communities and the time for that is now!
As my training begins I am going to be documenting this whilst
encouraging all those I meet and know to donate and support Scotty's Little Soldiers.
Any support, whether a donation or a message of encouragement, is
greatly appreciated with 100% of your donation going to help support bereaved British Forces children.
