Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our Dad was diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer in early November 2015, which very quickly ended up with him in hospital after emergency surgery. Sadly following the surgery there was nothing else they could do but to make him as comfortable as possible.
We managed to get him transferred to the Rowans Hospice for his last few days where he peacefully slipped away on Sunday 27th December 2015, less than 7 weeks after his diagnosis.
We really must support to help improve diagnosis of Kidney Cancer.
When we were young, our Dad walked the South Downs Way, so what better way to remember him, raise some money and a great excuse to have to try and get a bit fitter!!!
This is also a real personal challenge for us both as we both have our own challenges with health. Matthew has chronic myeloid leukaemia and I have a rheumatic disease ankylosing spondylitis. We both hope this wont affect us too much and are going to give it 100%!
Thanks very much for any donation you can give.
We will be donating a % of the money raised to the Rowans Hospice, as they did such an amazing job of looking after us all in those final few days.
Thanks
Matthew and Simon Warren
