Story
SDSG is one of the largest disabled swimming groups in the country with over 250 members, with the aim of improving physical, psychological and social wellbeing through various projects as an approved NHS provider.
I have been a volunteer at SDSG since 2017, and throughout my time I have seen huge progress in the abilities and confidence of the members. Your generous donations will support the club by helping to fund specialist equipment, training, and pool time.
Currently, only 16.8 per cent of disabled people take part in sport or exercise for 30 minutes once a week, compared to 39.9 percent of non-disabled people. SDSG is helping to change this through delivering opportunities for people with disabilities (and their family/carers) to get active and by improving the accessibility of Scarborough Sports Village in partnership with Everyone Active and Scarborough Borough Council.
