Story
At 2am on the morning of Sunday 28th April, 5 of us will following in the mad footsteps of mid-morning runners and taking advantage of the London Marathon closed roads to take on the famous course back to front - starting at the finish line and ending up around 7am at the start line. Just in time to watch the serious runners set off.
The group is a right old mix of hearty 'runners'. Oli's brother, Eddie, who nearly passed out taking on last year's London Marathon and had to be helped over the finish line by a concerned steward; Mike Toley, seasoned Ultra Marathon specialist and boring reminder of how many km he's run at the weekend; Bruce Wilson, Andrew Strauss lookalike and general stamina superhero; Dave Bullock, a once time great runner (so he allegedly reminds us) who gets lost running around the block and Jonathan Russell, opening batsmen extrodinaire and top Triathlete who regularly gets put in his place by his wife Molly, who, well is basically just better at everything they attempt.
More importantly, we are doing this to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust as part of the Oli Mills Foundation in memory of Oli, who died of a brain tumour in 2005, aged just 18 years old. To date we have raised over £260,000 in Oli's name and we are looking to make a big dent in the race to £300,000.
Your support, as ever, is very much appreciated.
