Story

I have no idea how to begin to tell the story of William Mead, it's so tragic that no words really do it justice.

When William was just over a year old he lost his life to sepsis, leaving so many people with a hole in their heart that can never be filled. There is nothing I can say or do to describe such a horrendous situation.

But we do have the words and actions to help stop sepsis taking more lives in such a tragic manner. This September, Williams dad, uncle and two family friends will be taking part in the Screwball Rally to raise money and awareness of this dreadful condition. We will soon be putting up a Facebook account for people to find out more and follow our progress. Please follow us and donate where you can and let's make sepsis something we all know about.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
