Story

The Creswell Heritage Trust, is a small independent charity, protecting and preserving the site of Creswell Crags, and artefacts discovered here, which include Britains only verified Ice Age Rock Art and the largest collection of Neanderthal evidence in Britain from the Upper-Paleolithic, and thanks to a recent discovery of the largest collection of witch marking in the UK. Together these tell the compelling story of the Ice Age Hunter, the animal now extinct, and the fear, superstition, and belief of our ancestors some 500 years ago. The Museum is committed to re-opening and providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone but the future isnt certain. We need your help to get through to 2021 when it is hoped that visitation can return to more normal levels. As an independent charity, we rely on our visitors for 95% of our income, were asking people to donate whatever they can to keep the stories of our oldest ancestors and connection to our prehistoric past alive.
