Scouts 4 Peaks · 28 April 2023

Our mission is to create a society that values and supports young peoples mental health. We do this by delivering our free confidential one-to-one support services. By helping communities be more supportive to young people and by influencing change in how our society responds to young people.

Story

We are a group of Rover Scouts (Scouts aged 18-26) and Scouters (Adult leaders within
Scouting Ireland who will be climbing the 4 peaks of Ireland over the May Bank Holiday
Weekend in aid of Jigsaw.

Jigsaw is a mental health charity for the youth in Ireland. Their mission is to achieve better
mental health outcomes for young people (ages 12-25) by delivering therapeutic services,
promoting youth mental health and mobilising community societal change.

As we are young people ourselves we want to support those around us and see the importance
of talking about your mental health. Many of us have experiences of the issues caused by
mental health whether it be through friends/family or personally.

This is why we have decided as a group to raise money for Jigsaw. In order to put a challenge
behind our fundraising we will be climbing the 4 peaks of Ireland over the May Bank
Holiday weekend.

What are the 4 Peaks?
The 4 peaks are the highest peak of each province. These are as Lugnaquilla (Leinster),
Carrauntoohil (Munster), Mweelrea (Connacht) & Slieve Donard (Ulster).
