I have been given a great opportunity to run on behalf of my local charity - Havens Hospices - at this years Virgin London Marathon. When somebody has been told that there is no cure for their loved one's illness, this charity is there to ensure that they make that person's life as comfortable as they possibly can.

I had always had an awareness of the hard work and compassion that Havens Hospices provides to people within my local community. However, they became close to my families hearts when a life long friend became terminally ill and received some fantastic support from this charity.

I am really looking forward to the challenge of competing in this years Virgin London Marathon. I have always admired the discipline and determination it takes to train for such an event, so I cannot wait to prove to myself that I am able to accomplish a life long ambition of finishing the London Marathon.
