Here for children at Christmas
As part of the NSPCC's Walk for Children I'll be taking on 50k in five day between 21-25 December.
This year has been difficult for us all – it’s changed our lives, and children’s lives too. Childline has heard from children feeling the pressure on their mental health, and others who have felt trapped in unsafe homes without the support of school or friends.
While many of us see Christmas as a time of celebration, it also puts additional pressures on families and children who are already struggling. With the added fallout from the coronavirus, this year may be even harder.
That is why this year, we are calling on the members of the NSPCC Sports Board and Sports Network, with a goal to raise £30,000 this Christmas to cover the costs to run the entire Childline service this New Year's Day.
When home isn’t a safe place, Christmas can be the worst time of the year. When school and other supports for children close over the Christmas period, many young people can feel helpless and alone. But, with your help, the NSPCC Childline service will be here for them.
