Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I hope you have been generous!!
26.2 miles for a 13 stone lump is no small challenge, but i'm sure i'll prevail. The distance is ok if i don't think about how far it actually is in real terms Glasgow airport to prestwick, the house to Rowardennen, for example. I'm led to believe the crowd are fantastic and assured that New York is a "nice" run. I'll just have to wait and see and try my best to aviod any pre race New York Loft parties.
So far training has been going well, apart from a wee issue with my IT band tendon. This week (week beg 24th Aug) is my first 43 mile week and first 20 miler. 9 weeks till race day, 6 weeks of big miles to come. I'm mostly alternating between 43 and 36 miles per week with my longest run of 22 miles coming at the end of the 6 weeks. Right now I'm feeling pretty good, so lets hope my biomechanicaly deficient body can cope.
Thanks again for donating, please make sure you tick the gift aid box as this gives some westminster expenses back to the needy!!
take care
