Story
At the end of September last year when I was 12, I found out I had scoliosis. Less than 5 weeks later I had spinal fusion surgery for a severe double curve that was progressing rapidly.
Both before and after the surgery it was a scary time but the Edinburgh Spinal Team (Scottish National Spine Service) gave my family & I the most amazing care and support - and still do so as I continue my recovery. I am very grateful to Mr Tsirikos and Hilary Sharp and I hope money raised will help them research scoliosis even further & help other children like me.
My family is going to do our own kind of triathlon - together! Along with my parents and younger brother & sister, we will be doing 500 kilometres (combined) of running, cycling and swimming in May - and in my case, walking!
We’re also hoping to do some other events, such as school bake sales, and to raise awareness about scoliosis and the affects of it for Scoliosis Awareness Month in June.
I would be so grateful for any donations to help Mr Tsirikos, Hilary and their team to help children across the whole of Scotland who are facing scoliosis. These funds will go directly to the team via the following fund:
