Story

Hello everyone, I’m extremely pleased to share that I will be one of Young Lives Vs Cancer's (Clic Sergeant) London Marathon 2021 runners! To be running for a cause so close to my heart is a huge privilege, whilst also being a huge challenge!

I am sure by now you all know this, but Young Lives Vs Cancer are such an amazing charity, and their support of children suffering with cancer, and their families, up and down the country is incredible.

My family got to experience this support firsthand when Jake was ill, and amongst the other great things they did they offered us free accommodation near the hospital in one of their 'homes from homes', Paul’s House. Being able to use a facility like this was a Godsend because not only could we use it to stay the night, but also use it as a much more comfortable place for Jake's friends to visit him away from the ward.

It is only through fundraising and the amazing generosity of people that facilities like Paul’s House remain open as a haven for other families stuck in that awful situation.

As a member of Team JAWS, I feel a small sense of guilt that I am asking for donations again, for another challenge, because so many of you have been so incredibly generous over the years but I am passionate about this charity, and the work they do helps so many children that each and every pound we raise is put to good use.

So along with my JustGiving page that you can donate to, I will be running events in the build-up to race day now that it is appropriate and safe to do so, and I will post any updates for these on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram.

In the meantime, any donations, shares, or likes of this post will help me towards my goal and will be greatly appreciated by me.

Bit of a long post so thank you for taking the time to read this!
