This is a post I never thought I’d have to write....
On Sunday 3rd October 2021, I, a man with the flexibility of a fridge will be running the London Marathon. Considering the only athletic part of me is my athletes foot and the last thing I ran for is an ice cream van, I am terrified but mildly excited.
For those of you that don’t know, in 2016 my daughter Tilly was born 8 weeks premature, weighing just 2lb 7oz. The day after she was born her health took a turn for the worse and she was rushed by ambulance to Royal London Hospital. During this traumatic time Danielle and I were looked after by an amazing charity called The Sick Childrens Trust, who provide care and accommodation for parents of critically ill children and babies. They came out of nowhere to be our guardian angels in our hour of need. It, along with clogged arteries, is very close to my heart.
So, the begging part....my aim is to finish in less than a fortnight. I’m not going to be one of those people who post on social media every time they go for a jog, but if between now and next April you can spare any money whatsoever then every penny raised makes a huge difference to such an incredible charity.
Hugs and kisses
