Story
Last year I was encouraged and cajoled by my running team mates to run my first marathon, the Virtual London Marathon 2020. I had never planned to run a marathon, truth be told I thought distance running was boring, but after signing up to do it, starting the training (very late), then seeing donations come in for Team Sense I started to get the buzz.
I'm so pleased with myself that I managed to run that far, and in a decent time too I thought, so I signed up for the ballot for this years straight away, and lo and behold I won a place. People who have tried to get a ballot place keep congratulating me, so I know I'm very lucky to have been randomly selected. Now I'm starting to imagine running the actual London course (Covid-depending) I'm really looking forward to it and am grateful for my chance.
I didn't want to ask for money again, but people began asking me who they could donate to, and it reminded me that this is what the London Marathon is all about, so here I am. I had chosen to raise money for Alzheimer's Society after losing my nan to the disease over the past few years, and after hitting my target I have decided to start a new page to raise funds to help Sea Shepherd in their crucial policing of our seas. Thank you so much for sponsoring me for either charity, it means the world to me to have your support.
The world pandemic had made it incredibly difficult for charities to raise funds for fantastic causes, so I'd really appreciate it if you could help me help them and throw some coins in to the pot. Maybe on pay day, so you don't feel it in your pocket as much as you might do at other times of the month? Think of all those drinks you haven't had in the pub or the gigs you didn't go to, hopefully that'll make it easier? ;-)
If you made it this far through my waffle you must a be a supporter, so thank you, from me and Sea Shepherd.
