We fund essential medical research to find a cure for Lymphangioleiomyomatosis

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This is Emma's sister, she is 37 and has two young children, Isabelle and Harry.

Devastatingly in 2014, Louise was diagnosed with Lymphangioleomyomastosis (LAM) a very rare lung disease that occurs almost exclusively in women. It effects 7 women in one million.

LAM predominantly affects the lungs, where it causes excessive growth of muscle cells which progressively destroy lung tissue and erode lung function. Louise's lungs are now working at only 34% which means climbing a flight of stairs is becoming a struggle. She now needs to wear oxygen when performing everyday tasks. Although research is ongoing, currently there is no cure for LAM.

Louise has taken it upon herself to organise a charity run/walk to raise as much money as possible for the charity LAM action. We hope to raise vital funding for research so that hopefully one day, a cure can be found.

Any amount you are able to sponsor me will be greatly received!

Much love and thank you.

Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) is a rare lung disease that only occurs in women. It affects just over one woman in a million. We are a self-help group providing support for patients with LAM and raise money for vital research - it is often difficult to obtain money for research into a rare disease.
