Story
On Saturday November 20th I will be leaving the comforts of a warm and dry home and sleeping rough for the night.
I have chosen to do this to support a local Southend charity
with their event “The Big Winter Sleepout”. The event aims to raise
awareness and vital funds to continue supporting those who face sleeping rough as a reality. Liberty Hygiene have already helped out at One Love Soup Kitchen with helping hands and vans on several occasions. It’s a great charity and every penny raised stays local and helps those in need the most.
I am planning to raise at least £1500 myself towards
the charity’s goal of £5000. You can help me achieve that by donating
here.
But I'm not doing this lightly – to provide proof that I really am roughing it I will do some live Facebook reports during the night, rain, hail or moonlight. And I won't be bringing any down filled cosy sleeping bags. They'll be left at home so I can experience the true
realities of what, sadly, too many people down on their luck face every night.
Please give what you can
