Story
So having finally shifted a few pounds (having tried for 2 years!!) I have decided to step up to the plate and take part in both the Wilmslow half marathon and then the Greater Manchester full marathon (the whole 26.2 miles :O). In the process I would also like to raise some money for charity.

I thought it would be a great idea to run the marathon in aid of a fantastic cancer charity as throughout my life I have seen first hand the effects that cancer can have on a person and their family.

So which cancer charity? Well currently I am working for a pharmaceutical company as part of my Chemistry degree, here I have been given a chance to help develop the latest cancer drugs. During my placement I got the chance to visit the Christie cancer hospital. The Christie is a leading expert in cancer care, research and education. It provides state of the art facilites for cancer patients as well as leading the way in ground breaking cancer treatments. During my visit I was made aware of the Christie charity. This excellent charity raised £13 million pounds last year which funded a number of different projects, from a new radiopharmacy, a new wig service and a state-of-the-art surgical robot to groundbreaking cancer research and communications skills training for nursing staff. All things that fall outside the scope of the NHS and therefore do not get funded. I therefore chose the Christie charity to raise money for.

This really is a fantastic charity and with your help this charity can help the people who have had their lives taken away from them by cancer. Any donations whatsoever will be gratefully recieved and are going to the best of causes.
Please be the one to make a difference.
Thank you :)!
