Autistica is an amazing charity that supports autistic people and their families through cutting edge research and education. They also work hard to raise awareness of the need for employers to be more inclusive and supportive of neurodiversity.

Autistica Play focuses on the videogames industry (where I've worked for the last 25 years). Games have been found to help autistic people develop important life skills such as socialising, relaxing and having fun. It's not surprising that the games industry employs 3 to 4 times more autistic people than other industries.

At the moment, only 16% of autistic people are in full time employment - a rate that has barely changed in the last decade. And 2020 has been particularly difficult year, with unprecedented change, uncertainty, and anxiety.

By contributing to (and sharing) my 200 mile Christmas Zwifting fundraiser, you'll be helping Autistica to make breakthroughs for a brighter future, where every autistic person can look forward to a happy, healthy and long life!

I'll be starting my cycling challenge on 19th December and aim to hit the 200 mile target by January 3rd. I'll share progress updates along the way. Hopefully it won't get too cold in the garage!

For those that aren't familiar with Zwift, it's a game that allows you to link a (cycling) turbo trainer to a computer/tablet/smartphone and ride with others in a virtual environment. It's a lot of fun!
