Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For the next 5 months I will be pounding the streets of Basingstoke in training for my first marathon!!!. I will be running in the Edinburgh Marathon on the 22nd May 2011 in memory of my father in law Nick Coombs who lost his 18 month battle with Bowel Cancer on the 26th June 2010 at the age of 63.
I would also like to raise as much money as I can for the charity Bowel Cancer UK so that they can continue their great work to encourage people to recognise the symptoms of the disease and to act on their concerns so that they have the best chance of survival – this is so important.
Survival rates in the UK are amongst the lowest in Europe, with 15% more patients being diagnosed at a later stage of the disease compared with most other European countries.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Bowel Cancer UK and will make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
