Fighting Against Cancer Edinburgh (F.A.C.E.)
December 2013: My love for F.A.C.E. began after my former colleague and good friend John Macaulay invited me to join the team on their annual trip to Lapland to see Santa! After seeing the impact this trip had on the 40+ kids who were going through very tough times - I was sold. What an amazing charity! The video below gives a small insight into what we experienced:

June 2014: Senior students donated generously to compete in the F.A.C.E. Summer Cup, raising £555 that helped buy a new iPad for those affected most at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre.
January 2015: After missing out on my invite to return to Lapland again by 1 week (due to my work commitments in Kuwait) I returned after the festive period determined to not let my location stop me from helping out such an amazing charity - Cue entering the Ironman 70.3 in Turkey!
October 2015: Ironman 70.3 Turkey - Those of you who know me will know that I like to keep fit! I've played football, completed various challenge events and the odd 10k/Half-marathon - but I know for a fact this will be the hardest thing I have ever attempted. The course consists of:
- 1.9k swim
- 90k cycle
- 21k run
I will do everything in me to complete it in as fast a time as possible, because whatever physical suffering I go through; will only be a fraction of what those affected by cancer experience!

'The line between failure and success is so fine that we ... are often on the line and don't know it. How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience, a little more persistence ... and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.'
