Story
I am taking on the Team Beacon BA i360 iDrop Challenge on 24 March 2019 to raise vital funds for The Sussex Beacon. The Sussex Beacon are an HIV charity based in Brighton, a city with the second highest HIV prevalence in the UK, where access to specialist care and support is vital. 20 years ago this year I found out I was HIV positive. It was a very dark and horrible time in my life. I was 25 years old when I was told. I didn't know anything about it and what was going to happen. The thing that has alway stuck in my head was taking my mum to see the doctors. They told her I would probably only live for 5 years. It killed her and the pain I had put her in was horrible. But, with all the love and help I got from family and friends I got through it and 20 years later things are better than they have ever been. Some people don't have the support I got and will struggle with every day life, this is why the Sussex beacon is very important to people living with HIV in Brighton. The beacon is an amazing place and full of wonderful people to help support people living with HIV. Please help me to raise as much money as possible xxx
