Story
Hello and thanks for visiting my just giving page.
My wife Megan has Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) amongst lots of other conditions that started following severe sepsis after childbirth - that was 3 years ago. She has gone from being a national equestrian competitor to being wheelchair bound, needing a feeding tube and needing 27 pills a day to keep her alive.
MCAS is a disease from which many suffer but for which there is very little help.
It can take up to 5 years to get a diagnosis…and there are only a handful of people who can treat it.
Following years of misery, misdiagnosis and wondering if you're wife is going to live through her next attack, we now know MCAS is at the bottom of Megan’s condition, but she is not yet completely stable or in remission.
Counting out those 27 pills one day gave me an idea about how I could draw attention to the problem, and help to change it. I decided I’d run 27 marathons in 27 days over this Christmas, with the objective of raising £27,000 for Mast Cell Action; the charity devoted to helping patients with MCAS.
Quite a challenge for someone who is better at back squatting than back road running, but hopefully a step along the road of creating awareness and getting people to take this disease seriously.

£27,000 is a huge target but people with this condition desperately need help. Nobody should have to be on the journey we have endured to simply get help.
Thank you for reading, and fingers crossed you donate. Let's raise money, raise awareness and run 707.4 miles. If you want to join me on a run, please get in touch on Instagram.
