When I finish school, I will be spending a year volunteering with Project Trust, a charitable education trust based in Scotland that sends volunteers overseas to work on educational and social development projects. During this year, I will be living and working in Cambodia, teaching English in local schools.
To raise the funding for this project, I will be undertaking various activities, such as running the Exmouth Coastal Half Marathon on 24th April, doing 1 push-up for every £1 raised, organising events such as a cake sale and setting up a raffle.
Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in South East Asia and is still dealing with the effects of a long period of war and political instability. The aim of the project is to help provide education and support to children who live in poverty and to engage them in extra-curricular activities. I am hoping to help a local community in Cambodia during my year, whilst also gaining first-hand experience of living in a different cultural environment.
Any support that you can give would be greatly appreciated!
