My little one, Brodie, was born at QEUH as we were seen by the amazing Fetal Medicine Team as I had a very complicated pregnancy, my local team couldn’t continue my care as he required specialist treatment.
We spent several weeks (7!!!) in NICH in RHC after he was born in 2020, and also have been in and out on sometimes on a weekly basis to see all our amazing surgeons, consultants, specialists and nurses. Brodie is a true warrior, he has a very complex condition called VACTERL Association which affects different parts of his body. He has had a lot of surgery, his most recent only being on Thursday past.
We have raised around £2000 in total over the last year and a half for GCHC, but it doesn’t even scratch the surface of the thanks I owe the hospital team for saving my little ones (and quite honestly my own) life!
Participating in the Kiltwalk with my family is a little way I can give back by fundraising! 💜
