Graeme, Isabella and I are doing the Kiltwalk Wee Wander this year to raise funds for The Village Storytelling Centre. The Village improves and enriches lives by bringing people together, inspiring them to find, shape and share their voices through the power of Storytelling. I have been overwhelmed with pride throughout the pandemic as our amazing team has adapted, ensuring that we continued to support people of all ages in our community of Pollok and the surrounding areas. From delivering online or outdoor storytelling sessions with children & families to making hundreds of befriending calls with isolated adults in the community, our team has worked tirelessly. We have supported people in some of the most challenging circumstances by providing them with access to digital equipment, warm winter clothing, securing emergency food packages, and by making sure they've had someone to talk to. We have worked with schools and several organisations to support people who are particularly marginalised and isolated to feel connected and to take control of their story - imagining a positive future for themselves at a time when the future has never been more uncertain. It has been a rollercoaster since March 2020 but the Village team hasn't stopped. And now we are asking you to help us - any donation, large or small, will ensure this amazing organisation can keep supporting the people who need us the most.
