We will do whatever it takes to help you live life as fully as you can
Story
Thank you for visiting my MacMillan fundraising page.
Well, the trip is now complete and what an adventure it was!
The car performed very well (as she did last year) and completed her side of the challenge with only a noisy exhaust and weak front shocks as minor niggles that occurred en-route. Unfortunately as you may have read in our blog, the Ferry companies in and around Gibraltar were not supportive and wanted to charge a lot of cash to make the crossing. (500 euro!!!!!) Andy and I made the discision to end the challenge at Gibraltar as to pay this amount would be silly for a 17 mile return crossing. The Nearest we got to Morocco was a Morrisons car park just 17 miles away (over water) hence the change to our logo!! We were gutted at first to get so far and be turned back by such a simple part of the journey, but we both agreed that Scarlett had done what we set out to do - the mileage. Had there been a bridge or land crossing the result would have been different.
Anyway, after totting up the miles we concluded that the car had driven us 3929 miles on this trip and Im sure you will agree for £100 worth of Scirocco that is 21 years old, that is an amazing feat.
Both Andy and myself would like to thank everyone who has supported our challenge - we could not have done it without you. Please remember though that we are still collecting money on these pages until later this year, so if you have not donated but would like to - either donate here or contact us.
At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can.
We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To
