Story
Once a week, leading up to what should be the Schnauzerfest weekend (October 17 / 18) Bert & Otis will be wearing orange and sniffing out items from the alphabet on their daily walk, and sharing their photos with you.
Otis was rescued from a puppy farm in 2014 and we have since had the pleasure of giving him the life he deserves. Otis was one of the lucky ones. He didn't need life changing surgery and he now has all the home comforts a pet dog should have. Yet he still carries the scars from years of abuse and neglect.
Schnauzerfest pays for the veterinary treatment for dogs rescued from puppy farms. With our big weekend of fundraising walks in October uncertain due to COVID-19 joining our Step Out For Schnauzerfest Challenge is a great way to see what we can all still do. Even during restrictions & lockdown.Walking alone, but joining others in spirit. As organised gatherings are now impossible, but being outside with our dogs is allowed & necessary, we want to celebrate this. Puppy farm dogs never get to be outside. They never breathe fresh air. We still can, even for limited time each day under lockdown. We can look ahead to when this is over and walking with others happens again. By being out for puppy farm dogs, by taking a regular Step Out For Schnauzerfest, funds will be there to help the dogs who will need it like never before. We won't forget them during this year of massive upheaval.
