Like so many others cancer has touched my life and so I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year to help in the battle to to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. 

It's now 25 years since I was old enough to realise and remember that I lost the first person in my life to cancer - I wasn't quite 14.  Since then I've had to watch both family and friends suffer from this dreadful disease.
